World War I, Veterans’ Day and Its Centennial

This session explores the impact of World War I within communities via the symbolism of Veterans’ Day. A general scope of observances of the end of WWI locally and globally shows the audience the connection within the community and classroom. The session also enables educators to have a more civic role within the observance through ideas, models, and various types of connections with their local veterans groups. A model of action for implementing Veterans’ Day as an educational consultant for now and the upcoming centennial is provided.
