The American Experience of World War II through its Citizenry

The lessons of patriotism, teamwork, sacrifice, optimism, and leadership found in the history of World War II are essential subjects for training students to become active, educated citizens. Using WWII primary sources as evidence of a deliberate citizenry, the presenter will demonstrate the connection between Social Studies and civic engagement. Participants will receive a classroom kit containing multimedia resources which align with the Common Core State Standards and NCSS National Standards for Social Studies teachers.
