Using Socratic Dialogue in the High School Classroom

Socratic dialogue places students at the center of the educational process; it fundamentally shifts the dynamics of the teacher-student relationship and places ownership and initiative for learning on the student. Students from Harwood Union High School will introduce this method of teaching and learning and will engage participants in a Socratic dialogue. They will facilitate the discussion and debrief the process with participants. Students and Harwood teachers will discuss how and why this method of teaching and learning is transformative.
