Facing History and Ourselves Offers Online Seminar: "Holocaust and Human Behavior"

This Fall, Facing History and Ourselves will once again offer our 8-week facilitated online seminar, “Holocaust and Human Behavior.” By using the Holocaust as a case study, we raise profound moral questions about the consequences of our actions and our beliefs, and we help our students make connections between history and the moral choices they make every day. While the Holocaust was a unique event in human history, the questions remain universal.

Seminar Dates: —September 25, 2008 – November 19, 2008 or —October 16, 2008 – December 17, 2008.  read more »

MASSACHUSETTS HISTORY DAY 2008

               CONFLICT AND COMPROMISE IN HISTORY

Do you wish there was a way to give students a “hands on” experience in History and the Social Sciences? History Day is an excellent way to do that. It is a contest for students in two divisions, grades 6-8 and 9-12, that encourages young people to produce papers, projects, performances, and media presentations based on their own original research. There are three levels of competition: District, State and National. History Day provides a wide forum for students’ work and opportunities to interact with other junior historians.  read more »
