Africa Resources Available On-Line

Dear Educators, Teachers, and Professors,

I am pleased to introduce an excellent online resource recently launched to provide extensive information and data for curriculum development and courses that focus on Africa. The website Africa.com contains current and historical information for students interested in one or more of the fifty-three countries on the continent.

Examples of topics for each country include the following items:

• Short videos that allow students to “visit” the country they are studying, • Up to date facts and figures about people, history, and governments, • Current news, maps and geography, • Culture, arts, literature, music, and • Economics, finance, and political conditions.

The website also offers unique and educational blog content written by experts in various fields that is not only extremely helpful, but also very interesting for students of various ages. Africa.com is committed to educating American students about Africa in any way possible and welcomes your feedback and suggestions for improvement.

My recommendation comes from my educational background, having earned a doctorate in educational leadership from U.C.L.A. in 1996, and my professional experience as a secondary teacher, high school principal, and superintendent of schools in California, as well as a research associate and faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at California State University at Northridge.

Visit Africa.com for more information. You will be pleased!

Sincerely,

Audrey M. Clarke, Ed.D. Senior Education Advisor Africa.com LLC 1515 Broadway, 11th Floor New York, NY 10036 audrey.clarke@africa.com
