MCSS aims to foster educator collaboration and to protect and promote the civic purpose of teaching social studies. The purpose of this document is to support educators in ensuring that our students learn how to think critically, evaluate evidence, engage in constructive dialogue with peers, and actively participate in our democratic society. Our goal is to teach students how to think, not what to think.
