Its' current exhibits span 3 floors and include world class examples from Native American cultures, the Pacific islands and Meso American civilizations. It is a non-partisan explanation of American government and offers an overview of why participation is crucial to building citizen-leaders. Written and narrated by tenured Bowdoin professor Andy Rudalevige, the 15-part video series is called "The Founding Principles." It is being offered as a tool for high school teachers to aid in their American History lesson plans. The pieces are 10-12 minutes in length and ideal for juniors and seniors. Guests to the museum learn about Boston's resistance to "taxation without representation" during the early revolutionary period, and how this led to the outbreak of the American Revolution at the battle of Lexington-Concord. Students not only visit the museum, but participate in a meeting with Samuel Adams, storm down to Griffin's Wharf to destroy the tea aboard an accurate eighteenth century replica ship, and finally learn the consequences of their actions that led up to American Independence.

The 2014 Educators for Teaching India (EFTI) conference theme will be Women in India: Negotiating Tradition and Modernity. The conference will take place on April 4, from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm at Harvard University. This year’s conference will examine the status of women in India through multiple lenses: religion, history, politics and current events, including the recent Supreme Court ruling that sentenced four men to death for the gang-raping of a New Delhi woman.
